Tomatoes are known in the Philippines as kamatis and are one of the famous ingredients for sarsiado.

Sarsiado (also sometimes spelled as sarciado) is a fish dish from the Philippines which features tomatoes and eggs. The name sarsiado in the Tagalog language means cooked with a thick sauce. The name is derived from the Filipino word "sarsa" (referring to a thick sauce) which in turn is from the Spanish word "salsa", which means "sauce".

There is more to tomatoes than just a culinary ingredient it also has many kinds of nutrients such as vitamins like vitamin C (essential for boosting our immune system) vitamin A, vitamin K, vitamin B6, folate, and thiamin. Tomato also contains minerals such as dietary fiber, protein, potassium, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, and copper.

Sarciadong Tilapia

Ingredients:

* 3 pieces of diced tomatoes
* 1 egg beaten
* 1 whole fresh and cleaned tilapia
* 4 cloves of garlic
* 1 onion
* 3/4 cups of water
* 1 tablespoon of fish sauce (Patis)
* Cooking oil

Procedure:

* Get the tilapia then fry it in a pan then after frying set it aside.
* On another pan saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes.
* Add the 3/4 cup of water and simmer for 5 minutes.
* Next is to add the beaten egg and fish sauce. Cook for 3 minutes.
* Next add the tilapia and cook for another 5 minutes.
* Next serve it with a smile.
