Best Way To Understand Menstrual Cycle And Ovulation Period | Boy Healthy

What is Menstrual Cycle and Ovulation Period?

We have encountered this topic in our school days to educate us on how this works and affects the lives of women.

But the problem is many has been struggling to understand how this works and how this affects their lives.

Menstrual Period

Menstruation also known as a period or monthly, is the regular discharge of blood through your private part.

Menstrual Cycle

It is the regular natural change that on occurs in women (female reproductive system) that makes pregnancy possible.

The range of when your next period is different from other women because every woman has different cycles. Some have an average 28-day cycle while others are ranging from 21-45 days.

Ovulation period

The easiest way to say this is that this is the time to get pregnant. This usually occurs two weeks before your period and two weeks after your period.

So if your average menstrual cycle is 28 days, your ovulation period will start at day 14.

Remember that the three days leading up to and including ovulation are the most fertile. This depends on what cycle you are in for example your average menstrual cycle is 28 days the ovulation happens two weeks before your average menstrual cycle so that would be day 14, and the most fertile days are days 12,13, and 14.

Here is an easy way to understand; this was shared by Facebook page Anne Kansiime Quotes.
"UNSAFE PERIOD
1. From the first day, you see the blood of your period.
2. Pick up a calendar and count 15 days including the first day of the blood stain.
3. Mark the 15th day with a pen.
4. Mark 3 days before the 15th day, and mark 3 days after the 15th day.
6. You will notice you have 7 days marked.
These 7 days are your ovulation/fertile days also known as the unsafe period.
That is if you have s*x on any of these days, then you have 98% chance of being pregnant.
7. Do this every month diligently"
"EVERY OTHER DAY IS YOUR SAFE PERIOD.
For example:
1. If your period is 11th July, 2017,
2. 15 days after the first day of the blood stain will be on 25th of this July too (2weeks after) counting from 11th.
3. 15th day is on the 25th July 2017.
4. 3days before the 15th day is 22, 23, 24.
5. 3days after 25th July 2017 is 26,27,28.
6. 22-28th July (7days) is when you are ovulating. It is your fertile period."
