Here Are The Types Of Body Fat And The Best Way To Get Rid Of It

Obesity is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to the extent that it may have a negative effect on health. People are generally considered obese when their body mass index (BMI), a measurement obtained by dividing a person's weight by the square of the person's height, is over 30 kg/m2, with the range 25–30 kg/m2 defined as overweight. Some East Asian countries use lower values. Obesity increases the likelihood of various diseases and conditions, particularly cardiovascular diseasestype 2 diabetesobstructive sleep apnea, certain types of cancerosteoarthritis and depression.
A recent Yorkshire Health Study took a look at a group of 4,000 obese adults and was able to place them into six distinct groups.
  • Young healthy females – women who were obese, but generally had fewer obesity-related complications,
  • Young healthy females – obese women who generally had fewer obesity-related complications, like type 2 diabetes
  • Heavy-drinking males – just like the previous group but with higher alcohol intake
  • Unhappy and anxious middle-aged – this group was mostly consisted of women with poor mental health and well-being.
  • Affluent and healthy elderly – overall in good health, but with symptoms of higher alcohol intake and hypertension
  • Physically sick but happy elderly – elderly suffering from more chronic diseases, like  osteoarthritis for example but in good mental condition
  • Poorest health – a group of the most economically deprived with the highest number of chronic diseases
The findings and conclusions from this study are essential to understanding the underlying causes of obesity because understanding what caused it in the first place can shed light on how we can defeat it. This is a major breakthrough in obesity treatment, but there still a lot of research needed to further confirm these findings.
You may think that the pictures above, have nothing to do with this study but the truth is that understanding where one holds weight is crucial to losing it as well.
There are two types of body fat distribution: Android and Gynoid
PositiveMed defines these terms as:
“An ‘android’ fat distribution pattern is so called because more men than women exhibit it. You may have heard it described as an ‘apple’ body type when the waist circumference is greater than that of the hips.”
“A ‘gynoid’ distribution is most commonly seen in women. This is what many call the ‘pear’ body shape. In this pattern, hip circumference is greater than waist circumference.”
Here are the 6 major types of body fat and the best way to get rid of it:

More Specific Types: Android
Of the types of android obesity, there are subtypes that can be indicative of certain issues. There are four android subtypes:
1. Full-upper-body-obesity –  This means a person is eating too much and not exercising enough. If both of those things fail to help you lose weight, it might be time to see a doctor.
2. Stomach-centered obesity (lower abdomen) – this is caused by a spike in the stress hormone cortisol and by depression and anxiety. Exercise and stress-relief techniques can help.
3. Swollen-stomach obesity – This can be caused by excessive alcohol consumption or breathing difficulties.
4. Large, protruding stomach with fat on upper back – This, like type one, is most often caused by inactivity. With this type especially, it is important to keep blood sugar levels stable. don’t go too long without eating, and eat in small increments.
More Specific Types: Gynoid
5. Lower-body obesity – For women with this pattern, it is crucial to perform lower-body resistance training. Cardiovascular exercise is important to ensure adequate fat loss.
6. Lower-body obesity that includes the lower legs – This is most often present in those who are pregnant.
Essentially, the more you know about your fat distribution pattern, the easier it will be for you to modify your training program to lose weight. Of course, talking to a doctor to rule out a hormonal balance or other genetic cause is important.
